French hand sewing incorporates fine fabrics, insertion lace, entredeux, puffing and tucked panels when creating delicate garments and other items. In this class you’ll learn many French sewing techniques including the delightful art of Fil Tiré. The French art of manipulating fabric often involved making strips that were sewn together using special techniques to make a single piece of fabric. Traditionally this was done by hand and took hours to complete. You'll use a sewing machine to achieve the same techniques in a fraction of the time.
